How to Get Wood

Chop with the axe you spawn with, hit a wood target, and place the structure before the Beast finds you in the open.

Wood comes from chopping forest trees with the axe you already have. There is no shop trip before the first tree. Every felled tree adds to your wood counter, often with a few coins, and placement spends that counter immediately.

Before the first chop

You need the Farmer side of the round, the starting axe, and trees. The pre-round inventory in one lobby already showed an axe next to a simple sword. Chop near the plot you will build on, because you will walk this route all match.

The loop

  1. Spawn and walk to trees along the route home.
  2. Chop until the counter hits a target. One player stopped at exactly 10 and placed a chicken farm. Later in that run the counter read 38. Another stocked 40 for a cow farm.
  3. Place the structure. If placement is refused, the counter is empty or the footprint is blocked. Chop or clear space, then try again.
  4. Repeat. Upgrades spend more wood after the first placement.

Chopping can drain the stamina bar. One player burned the whole bar in the trees and realized there was no sprint left. Leave enough stamina to get home. Bank wood into structures before dark. One death kept the player's stock, but that is a single run. Do not farm as if death is free.

Sound is the early warning while you are away from base. The night guide covers what to do when the breathing is close.

What the wood is for

Structure Observed wood Context
Chicken farm 10 Placed the moment the counter hit 10
Early blueprint 10 wood plus 50 coins Combined cost in a build menu
Cow farm 40 Stocked on purpose

Many other pieces also want gold. Turrets are the awkward case: one defense-minded account says they require wood, and another placed towers and mines with gold only. Read your tag. The base guide lists the wider cost examples.

More wood per tree

The only quantified bonus is the Lumberjack: 3 wood instead of 2, and 25 percent faster chopping at max level. Both numbers are player-reported. Nothing shows the level-one yield, so do not assume 3 wood from the first chop. Compare that pick on the class page.

The starting axe covers every chop in the survival recordings. A weapons clip recommends the axe over the sword for wood and describes rare and legendary axe rolls bought with embers. The clip does not give a yield per tier. See axes and swords.

A practical first target is the 10 wood chicken farm, then a surplus before night. If you want the arithmetic for a shopping list, the wood calculator subtracts wood you already hold from a cost you type in. It does not know your live build-menu prices.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a round of Survive Deep in the Woods end?

Farmers win if the Beast dies or if they are still alive when the round reaches morning. The Beast wins by catching every Farmer before sunrise. A 15-minute length is what several players describe, but the on-screen countdown is the deadline to trust.

Are there working codes?

No code string is listed, and no in-game code box has been documented. Rewards that are documented come from chopping, farms, and achievements. Treat code lists copied from other Roblox games as unrelated.

Which class should I pick?

Farmer is the documented pick for a fresh run because the opening is about staying alive while the base grows. That recommendation is a playstyle, not a published perk. A max-level Lumberjack is the only class with a reported bonus: 3 wood per chop instead of 2, and 25 percent faster chopping. Other class perks have not been shown.

What is the difference between gold and amber?

Round builds are paid with wood and with a gold or coin balance. One new Farmer started with 100. Classes, achievement rewards, and the 700 shop boxes are described with the words amber and embers. Play reports do not settle whether those names are one currency or several. Read the label on the menu you are spending from.

Does one catch eliminate a Farmer?

An older store line said a Farmer is eliminated after two catches. That sentence was later removed, and writeups do not agree on the edit date. Recorded rounds still show caught Farmers coming back, so do not treat one knockdown as a confirmed elimination.

Who made the game, and how big is a server?

The public Roblox record lists a 60-player server, the Survival and 1 vs All genres, and the creator group Simple and Fiya Games. A check of that record on October 12, 2026 showed 26,802,347 visits. Player count moves constantly, so a single playing number is only a snapshot.
